Train of Thought

DSCF0677a

I think I made someone mad…
I sorry CSB…

Anywho…

Just wondering away….

As I drive around this beautiful country of ours it’s needless to say that I have lots of time and miles to do nothing but let my mind wander to and
fro about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Not really…I spend a lot of that time munching on Cheetos, listening to audio books, radio classics, ESPN and trying to find an unobservable place to pee.

Happiness achieved…

I just bought me a little notepad to jot things down when I think of something I’d like to write about. I heard or read somewheres that all writers or authors worth their salt have a little pad of their own for just such inspirations.

I wanna be like y’all when I grow up.DSCF0684a

Ever since I became the greatest thing to hit the Land of WordPressia since the delete button I have become more interested in what people have to say thru their words and HOW they say it.

I have come to the conclusion that y’all are all a bunch of hacks and have no talent whatsoever and should be euthanized as soon as possible….

Not really….

I have been amazed at the level of talent, the range of interests and the sense of community that I have been blessed to become a part of.

The followers of my blogs are a loyal bunch.

I get good advice, critiques and praise for a job well done.

The rest of you suck!

Not really….DSCF0685a

The blogs, poems, photography, poetry (is that the same thing as a poem?) subjects, feelings, opinions, stories, rants and general artistry of the
contributing writers is, too put it simply, a little over-whelming for the new guy.

I don’t mean that in a mean way.

The level of sophistry I have witnessed thru this blogging medium has actually increased my admiration for the authors that I adore, and appreciate
the level of understanding for their commitment and craft.

It’s amazing to me that people can actually stay focused on a project long enough to write a novel.

The passion to create must be like a drug or sex toy or something….

Hell, I can’t stay focused long enough to…

Just for fun, here are my favorite books (to this point) and authors in order:

5) Stephen King (The Shining, November 22 1963, The Stand, Dr. Sleep)

4) John Grisham (A Time to Kill, A Painted House, Sycamore Row)

3) Alexander Dumas’ (The Count of Monte Cristo) [note: I Will be reading (listening) to the 3 Musketeers soon]

2) Nelson DeMille, David Baldacci or Jack Higgins (I just like spy novels)

1) Charles Dickens/John Steinbeck (David Copperfield, Grapes of Wrath)

When I start to get too big for my britches I will think Of Chuck and John’s awesome talents… then kill myself…

Not really….

If I could ever hope to be a pimple on their ass, I would be a happy pimple.

Okay...?
Okay…?

It is wondrous to see the true gift of human thought….What can be thought up, can be created.

In ANY form.

I am humbled by the total beauty that can be described thru the words of man or woman.

Are all writers artists?

It’s hard to say. There are so many levels of talent and ways for people to express themselves that I don’t see how anyone can make a real guess about it.

Here’s what I say…

Anyone that uses their mind for the ADVANCEMENT of art, words, music, or even invention, with the intent of enriching the lives of others is an
artist.

Tell me if I’m stretching it here.

Here is the perfect…pure artist:

A) A 3 year old using finger paint whose art makes it to the fridge door and Mommy love’s it.

B) The man that created the remote control for the TV

C) And whoever came up with the idea for musical instruments and the first written word.

Man…I believe some things are just gifts from….well, providence I guess.

The great part is that there are so many people that ‘want’ to share their talents and gifts with others without one SINGLE selfish intent.

I’m in it for the chicks…

Of course there are those few (millions) that like to be recognized for their work and appreciated. Perfectly natural says I.

I will accept worship and animal sacrifice…but, I’m high maintenance, needy and narcissistic…

But you already know this…

There are others that actually don’t care if they ever become famous or even published.

Like those trashy bloggers for example…

Not really…

I think blogging has opened the world to all kinds of possibilities of thought and creativity.

The immediacy in the transmission of ideas from one crank to another is going to…wait…

I didn’t mean it like that…

PC version: Opening up contributions and discussion from writer to reader.

Spreading the words….

Oh man I just thought of this…

Fertilizing the mind with internet bullhockey (Get it?)

I wonder how long it took for Charles Dickens to get his book published, or even printed?

Hmmm, I might have to find a biography about him.

Let me look real quick.

That’s weird…they say he was a “tragic figure”.

Is that the same thing as published?

Wow…I didn’t know Dickens was only 58 when he died…

Anywho… (Listen to David Copperfield at Audible.com…it’s excellent!)(Count of Monte Cristo too)

Dang…now I’ve lost my chain of thought…

See what I mean about focus…?!

Hey look! A squirrel!!

  1. From one of your loyal followers and subjects, I think it is ‘train of thought’. Please don’t hit me…

Well, seems like you are on top of the world again (and on top of a dinosaur). I am glad you are feeling well…like yourself again.

    Peace & Love

      1. You knew?! Why didn’t you say something? I didn’t know I was offending people!
        Evidently it’s a bunch of my posts…
I guess I should stick to Facebook and leave the writing to the serious people…

        to me
        Trey,

I will admit that Ionia and I have been getting complaints about some of your posts. The ‘Butthole’ one set a bunch of people off even though they didn’t bother reading it. It isn’t all of your posts, but the ones that are ‘bodily fluid’ oriented and ‘this is my day’.

We do like that you post so much while most of our authors sit on their hands and fart the day away. You and the others we’ve received complaints about might just need to be more selective in what you post. For example, your post about the funeral procession and the Sandy Hook post were phenomenal. Also, when you write about what you see on the road. The complaints flow in about the posts that deal with fecal matter, other bodily functions, and the ones that people perceive as rambling with no clear direction (their words).

Ionia and I don’t want to restrict creativity, but we also don’t want people to leave the blog and force us to shut it down. As you can see, people aren’t commenting or posting as much as they used to. In fact, many are simply unfollowing and walking away. It’s not just the post quality too, but other factors that we’re going to start fixing next month. One of the issues is that Ionia and I have been so busy with our own projects that we haven’t been able to keep tight reins on the CSB.

In regards to your posts, all I would recommend is focusing your CSB posts more on drawing out emotions like the one I read today. Nothing wrong with humor and that can still be done. It just seems like the crude humor is going over like a rock off the Empire State Building.

      2. Well, I wasn’t offended and didn’t write in about you. I think some people are just offended about too many things. Shit on them. That is one reason I don’t join things, I don’t want them dishing out ruled I have to write by. I write when I want to and feel the need, and I post a ton of other people’s work, whether off WP or from news sources.

Just keep in mind, you can’t please all the people…You know the rest. Like I said though, some people are too damn sensitive. I told what I thought was a little crude, but even at that, I didn’t write anything more about you. It is like those gross pics of that messed up Russian guy: I don’t turn in the writer, email WP about them; I just don’t click into the post anymore. If they post something else, sure. Perhaps keeping the pages separate is an idea. I know others that do that, who are on CSB. Gives you a place to do your rants and stuff which you might think people might have a problem with; then your work, like Charles said, which is grand, publish on there. You are a great writer, whether in comedy or serious work. So, you have great ability and opportunity to have two page, outlets if you like, in which to share your work.

        Peace & Love

      3. I have no wind in my sails now.
        If I had only known….

But thx, I knew I could rely on you for good feedback.

It just came across to me that people were leaving because of me.

I told you I was paranoid and high maintenance.

        Wow…I AM a tragic figure now….

      4. So sorry to rain on your parade, Macbeth.

I said a bunch of inspiring words for you, and…well…you tossed them away. Guess you don’t listen to your advisors. I think this is the way many a king has died. Just sayin’.

Just because your paranoid does not mean someone in not out to get you. I never noticed but that stupid rhyme has a double negative. In the end, I guess it means if you are paranoid, then no one is out to get you. Too complicated for my brain.

I gave you a ton of pats on the back, and even phrased my suggestions in a non-threatening manner.
Don’t worry about the people lost. If they are so lame to just leave the site and not say anything, well then they weren’t really active in a positive manner anyway. They were just trolling. People I would worry about leaving are people who are continual writers to the blog AND who have placed a complaint or concern before. If they have found nothing happened, then they might leave. I totally agree if you don’t like something you don’t have to read it, but complaing and then leaving, is lame. I am sure a lot of them said, “I am leaving your blog because of …” Not, “I have noticed a writer who is sometimes offensive. [Then state who the jerk, I mean writer, is] Would you please look into his/her writings.” If the matter continues over a week or more, then state you are leaving because not only is the writer offensive BUT you also have not had any resolve to the issue you presented. I don’t know, I see things way different than most folks. I see how to phrase things reasonably without offending, how to not get your panties in a twist, and how to not start arguments and get feelings hurt. Many cannot figure out where I come from (from off this planet as far as my dad was concerned, and now mum too), but they simply cannot do things in a more thoughtful manner. I have arguments with my mom over this all the time, and she just pfts and then walks away. She says no one can do it the way I describe. That is really funny since I am able to and do it all the time with her. Hence living in a cave as to not start any arguments wherein she can get her feelings hurt.

I love you man. Keep writing, please don’t give up. I am sure Charles would not want you to either. And what about our Scottish friend; are you going to leave her out to dry in Scotland? I have liked all your stuff, some more than others, and some of your work has hit different places in my soul.

Drive safe. Oh, and I didn’t know you were in this for the chicks. You know they have sites specifically for that. There is even one for truckers/drivers. Saw it in the Truckers News.

        Peace & Love

      5. I accepted all of your pats with due diligence.

I soak up your compliments like Bounty quicker picker upper.

Now…where’s the sleeping pills and vodka?

P.S I haven’t heard from scottishmomus in over a week

      6. I think she is busy writing love poems. Not my cup of tea.
I like the soak up the compliments. Cute. See you are a great writer. Who else would think of something so cute in a response?

I get the sleeping pills and vodka first. You can have what is left over. Trust me I need dem’.

Well, I hope all that good will of mine will tide you over until tomorrow. You can start fresh tomorrow and let the world know you still Rule! Either that or you may be dethroned by your advisors. Well…that is the rumor. I have no part in it of course, just the snitch. I also know how to appease the king, ruler, monarch of all time. Yeah, kissin’ ass, rather blatant, sorry.

        Peace & Love
I have a Vampire book awaiting my return, you know, before it turns day light.

  2. Holy Mackerel! Just write I say. No one is making them read. I have to admit to often skipping posts with offensive titles, like cursing, explicit language or whatnot, but I often have kids reading over my shoulder. You might as well be you, and then the people who come and hang out with you will appreciate you. And I like Scottishmomus’s love-poems. As for the CSB, select pieces they want, and put the rest up on your site. But write and write some more. That’s what it’s all about, not what a couple people say. Who are they anyway? Would you want to have a beer with them? Probably not. You have to have the hide of a rhino to be a writer. Think rhino.

  3. Good grief. I’ve missed stuff. Running really fast to catch up. Who did what? Who said butthole? Did someone mention shite? Off to see how our trucker has offended. Be back soon.

    Rene, you’re not a romantic? lol :)x

  4. Right, I’ve been, I’ve trawled and I can’t find the ‘offensive’ post. Is it so offensive that it has been removed? This is what happens when you’re teaching weans, feeding weans, correcting homework, doing homework, writing school plans and trying to write in between times. I missed it. So I may never know. 😦
I’ve not found any of your posts offensive. Amazingly funny at times. Hugely moving at others. Tell a lie. I couldn’t read the one about….I can hardly say it…..noses…picking….stuff…. Mucus makes me sick. I get retchy and want to vomit. Can’t help it. One of my daughter’s is the same. I’m sure that’s why I gave up on my nursing career. Not the blood and guts. Just the ….no….I can’t even say it again…..retch.
So, people on the CSB (now that I know what that stands for) are offended. Easy answer. Don’t read. I wouldn’t worry.
I could worry that Rene doesn’t like my love poems. Bugger! But we all like different things otherwise it would just be incredibly boring.
Onwards and upwards. Think I’ll go and write a love poem specially for Rene. I like to bug people occasionally. :)x

    1. Thx for worrying about me. Here’s the email I got. But, I’m good… 😉

      P. S you know you’ve made it when you’ve been censored.
      Lol!

      1. And I’m just listening to a George Carlin video. And he uses plenty of ‘language’.
I saw the letter earlier. I suppose your option then is to be censored or post certain things on your own blog only. It’s a shame people take umbrage so easily. Read or don’t read. It’s an easy option without making a fuss.x

  5. I found the Ninja Granny post hilarious…. I literally had to stop reading and start over I was crying from LMAO so hard.

There’s PLENTY of folk out there more offensive than you (think of all the rappers) and actually get rich from it…. maybe you should go to MTV or sumpin XD

  6. Your posts are just….it’s amazing how you weave the serious and the not too serious in it. However I must say the photos of you dancing with Mr Dino there were quite distracting…in a good way..

I’ve always wondered about poem and poetry..but too lazy to Google it.
I think we are all artists…creators…don’t we create the world we live in…all the time? 🙂

As for being offensive…I honestly don’t think you are…but then again I’m a physician (as you so love to point out :P) and we supposedly have very dirty minds…and well..pee, poo , flatulence, burps, barf, pus…it’s all part of a week’s job 😛
